Jim Butler Auto Group Announces Campaign To Do Good And Spark Joy Across St. Louis
Jim Butler Auto Group has announced plans to do good and spark joy across St. Louis through volunteer activities, donations, community fundraising support, and giveaways coordinated by the Jim Butler Community Service Crew. They have chosen the Boys & Girls Club of Greater St. Louis as the primary beneficiary of their efforts and also plan to give away thousands of winter accessories to area residents as a thank you for their ongoing support.
ST. LOUIS, MO, December 10 — Jim Butler Auto Group will spend the next few months doing good through employee-led volunteer activities and by creating moments of joy throughout the St. Louis Area. They have named their new effort the Jim Butler Community Service Crew to honor the reason they wanted to start it: to serve the communities that have so long supported their dealerships as customers and neighbors. They have big plans to support the Boys & Girls Club of Greater St. Louis—and thousands of pieces of premium swag to give away as a thank you to St. Louisans.
President Brad Sowers said the initiative comes at a time when St. Louisans are tired but hopeful and looking for little moments of joy to remind them what matters most —each other: “It feels like a good time to be out in St. Louis bumping elbows and letting people know we’re glad they’re here. Because we are. We’re grateful to our customers and neighbors whose support helped us earn the title of 2021 Ally TIME Dealer of the Year for Missouri. So we’re taking some time to say thank you.”
It also aligns with Jim Butler Auto Group’s community impact strategy which aims to contribute positively to economic development and wealth building efforts throughout the region via three giving verticals—providing enriching and hopeful experiences for youth, setting adults up for success by supporting organizations that assist with access to basic needs like health and transportation, and contributing to regional economic development through service, corporate leadership, and investment.
To kick off the campaign, Jim Butler Auto Group has donated $12,250 to cover the cost of gifts and dinner for 350 Boys & Girls Club Kids ages 6-18 on December 15 across all 12 St. Louis Metro Area locations. 25 Jim Butler Auto Group employees will support Boys & Girls Club staff as volunteers that night.
Sowers invites other area businesses to chip in through donations of toys, gift cards, and group meals for this and future Boys & Girls Club events, saying “The last couple of years have been challenging for almost everyone, but they’ve hit these kids the hardest. BGCSTL is doing critical work to provide safe spaces for learning and fun. They’re providing meals, after school care, holiday gifts, and joyful experiences. It is my genuine hope that our donation will be a domino effect that other businesses will jump in to support this critical institution. We can all do our part—whether it’s a $10,000 donation, 10 toys, or 1 gift card—to help make sure every kid feels seen and loved and has a bright future.”
Starting later this month and running through February, the Jim Butler Community Service Crew will be popping up in area businesses and events to hand out branded beanies, gloves, ice scrapers, long sleeve t-shirts, and hoodies as a token of their gratitude.
Jim Butler Auto Group’s commitment to the community is longstanding. Jim Butler Auto Group and Brad Sowers are longtime major donors to the Boys & Girls Club of Greater St. Louis, The Muny, and St. Louis County Library. This past November, the group gave away a brand new 2022 Chevy Equinox valued at $25,000 in support of a coordinated effort with Urban League of Greater St. Louis and St. Louis Metropolitan Pandemic Task Force, BJC, and Mercy which went on to vaccinate more than 40,000 people.
